Welcome, Fr. Weber, our new Chaplain in Residence!
We are pleased to announce the appointment of The Rev. Matthew L. Weber as Chaplain in Residence at St. Joseph’s. Fr. Weber serves St. Joseph’s Theological College as Lecturer in Liturgics and Ecclesiastical Music and as Vicar of St. Ann Chapel in Palo Alto, our mission to Stanford. He is gifted with an appreciation of the liturgy and a superb professional singing voice.
Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Fr Weber has resided in the Bay Area since 1996. He holds an S.T.B. from St. Joseph of Arimathea Anglican Theological College, a B.A. in Music History & Literature from Wright State University, and did post graduate studies in Musicology from the University of Michigan. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2007 and served as Vicar of St. Joseph’s before going to St. Ann Chapel.
Fr. Weber has worked at the UC Berkeley Music Library since 1998, where he serves as Curatorial Assistant. An avid collector of books and recordings, he (rather predictably) spends much of his leisure time reading and listening.
The St. Joseph of Arimathea Foundation, St. Joseph Theological College, and the Community of St. Joseph’s Chapel and Residence are delighted that Fr. Weber is in residence on the property. Welcome, Fr. Weber!
